End-to-End Data Management with Nutanix AHV

Last week, we announced Rubrik Alta, our ninth and most significant product release. Alta brings many cool, innovative additions. One of the items that I’m most excited about is support for Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) virtual machines. Rubrik now provides end-to-end data management for Nutanix. So, users can securely access data instantly, automate protection policies, and manage their AHV workloads. Rubrik has long supported VMware vSphere on the Nutanix platform. But Rubrik is excited to extend its partnership with Nutanix to be one of the first platforms to support native AHV backup and recovery. Alta’s support for AHV, as well as Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware, enables customers to orchestrate application data across multi-hypervisor and multi-cloud environments. Here’s how it works: Rubrik capitalizes on enhancements to Acropolis Block Services (ABS), such as Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) support. As you probably know, we’re all about the APIs. Rubrik leverages Nutanix’s new-and-improved REST 3.0 API to interact with Nutanix Changed Region Tracking (CRT) and query the changed metadata regions given any two snapshots of a virtual disk or VM. Tell me about CAN Capital and your role. Aileen: CAN Capital has been providing access to working capital to small businesses for over 18 years. I have been with the company for 10 years. In 2016, I moved into tech support and infrastructure management. Our environment at CAN Capital is mostly virtualized with 120 VMs. We have also begun virtualizing our physical servers. We are a small team with only one person dedicated to systems. Having a simple, easy-to-use system is very important to us to reduce the time spent on backup and recovery. What makes Rubrik’s customer support different from other companies? Rubrik places customer satisfaction at the forefront of support. One way this is achieved is through customer advocacy, meaning that we work with customers to better strategize our product and experience. This internal engagement allows us to understand the needs and pain points of our customers. We have established multiple channels for our “Voice of the Customer” program. In addition to closed case surveys, customers can use embedded thermometers for every case update to provide real-time, one-click feedback. The VOC program also provides an “ideas forum” where they can submit new product ideas, view existing ideas from other customers, and up or down vote ideas.
