Star Wars & Swag – Does It Get Any Better?
We’re definitely believers in the phrase “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” If you look at that from an IT industry perspective, it’s hard to imagine a larger cultural Force when it comes to “acceptable toys for adults” than Star Wars. (Don’t worry, Star Trek fans – we know you’re out there too!) As you can tell from our latest Backup Wars campaign, we’re putting our money where our mouth is: Just for signing up, you’ll get a bunch of free stuff – details at the link below. Join the Rubrik Alliance, get your Backup Wars kit. And make sure to check out the fun new Backup Wars video. But wait, it gets better. Have you ever imagined the magic of truly using the Force? Moving your hands and controlling things through the sheer power of your mind? Finding the Dark Side and embracing it for all its beauty and…mwu-ha-ha-ha…. Sorry, I got a bit carried away there. But there was a point. If you tweet a Star Wars inspired photo or video and tag @RubrikInc + #backupwars, you’ll be entered to win a Sphero BB-8. Control a droid with the motion of your hands…well, your hands while…
Score Snazzy Swag at the vBrownBag End of Year Give Away Extravaganza
One of the spectacular attributes of the virtualization community is the stellar folks who put forth time and energy to help others. A shining example of this is the vBrownBag folks. From hosting technical webinars with industry rockstars to recording presentations at major industry events, the people at vBrownBag provide an excellent resource for technical professionals looking to learn from one another. I remember when I first started tuning into the VMware Certified Professional (VCP) series many years ago and was amazed at how deep the presenter knowledge went. Each year during the holidays, vBrownBag asks vendors throughout the ecosystem to pitch in a few presents for community members to win by signing up for a giveaway contest. Last year, we at Rubrik posted details on how to win one of five copies of the Networking for VMware Administrators book (profits going to Alzheimer’s Association) along with Millennium Falcon LEGO sets. I think it was a fun set of swag for adults and kids to enjoy – or an adult who is a kid at heart. This year, we’re once again contributing to the vBrownBag End of Year Give Away Extravaganza with some snazzy new items! You have until Tuesday, 20th…
VMworld LEGO Giveaway of Epic Proportions
It must be nearly time for VMworld, because I’m tingly with excitement. From Opening Acts through vBacon, the community glow this annual virtualization event puts out is both educational and energizing. Hopefully, you’ve managed to secure your pass and find a hotel that doesn’t require both legs and arms for the nightly deposit. And remember folks – avoid the Tenderloin! On a related topic, you might have noticed me dropping some epic Star Wars LEGO sets at various VMware User Group events as Rubrik giveaways for those in attendance. And there’s a mountain more where that came from! In fact, my co-presenter Arvind “Nitro” Nithrakashyap and myself have picked out our favorite sets from the Battle of Hoth series! I’m going to call this photo Serious Business to reflect our somber moods. 😉 What does this all have to do with VMworld? Here’s the scoop – I’ve painstakingly collected all of the Battle of Hoth Star Wars LEGO sets from Episode V. And one lucky winner can take them all home (or we’ll ship them to you)! Simply sign up and attend our session at VMworld entitled Instant Application Recovery and DevOps Infrastructure for VMware Environments – A Technical Deep Dive for a…
