Can Rubrik AI change my environment on its own?
No. Every write action pauses for your explicit approval before it executes, showing exactly what will change. There's no auto-approve mode: Rubrik AI proposes the action, you decide. Only pre-approved, allowlisted operations can even be proposed, and every action, approved or denied, is logged to your audit trail.
Is my data used to train the AI models behind Rubrik AI?
Rubrik's enterprise agreements with model providers prohibit training on customer data, and the models are used for inference only. Your backup data, file contents, and credentials never leave the Rubrik environment: what reaches the model is metadata like job IDs, error codes, and timestamps, not the protected data itself.
What happens if Rubrik AI gives a wrong answer or hallucinates?
Data answers are grounded in live API calls, not model memory, and procedural answers are grounded in Rubrik's own documentation. Built-in guardrails include hallucination detection, and any state-changing action still requires your explicit approval before it runs, so a hallucinated diagnosis can never turn into an unreviewed action.
Is Rubrik AI a separate product I need to buy
No. Rubrik AI ships as part of Rubrik Security Cloud, not as a separately licensed add-on, and customers on both Foundation and Enterprise Edition get access. There's no new console to learn and no new procurement cycle: it's the platform you already run, now acting as an agent.
How is Rubrik AI different from a generic AI assistant like Copilot?
Generic AI assistants work from text and documents. Rubrik AI calls live Rubrik Security Cloud APIs, so its answers are grounded in your actual backup jobs, cluster health, and identity graph, not general model knowledge. It also carries Rubrik-specific skills for troubleshooting error codes and runbooks that a generic assistant simply doesn't have.
Can Rubrik AI run in an air-gapped or sovereign-cloud environment?
Not today. Rubrik AI depends on external cloud services, including the model provider and a documentation search index, so there's no offline or air-gapped deployment option currently. For strict data-residency or sovereignty requirements, talk to your Rubrik account team about current regional options.
What does Rubrik AI cost?
Rubrik AI is included in Rubrik Security Cloud today at no separate charge. Token-based pricing is being explored for the future, with no committed date, so ask your Rubrik account team for the latest details relevant to your agreement.
