Alexander Merz started his professional journey with a dual-study program at Deutsche Telekom, specializing in mobile communications. After joining operational services, a T-Systems subsidiary, as a Solution Architect, he designed cloud, data center, and network outsourcing solutions before focusing on Rubrik and cyber resilience. Today, he helps organizations across a wide range of industries, particularly regulated sectors, build resilient data protection strategies and achieve rapid, reliable recovery from cyber incidents.

Alexander Merz has extensive experience designing and delivering Rubrik solutions across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. He began by architecting Rubrik-based backup and recovery platforms and managed services for enterprise customers, covering everything from solution design to operational delivery. Over time, he expanded his expertise to cloud-native data protection, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure as well as selected AWS and Google Cloud projects. Additionally, Microsoft 365 and identity protection have become key pillars of his work. Alexander has also presented alongside Rubrik at Deutsche Telekom’s Digital X events, sharing insights on cyber resilience and modern recovery strategies.
