Gert began as a Senior Desktop Technician/Team Lead (2005-2010), advancing through Datacentrix as Enterprise Consultant (2012-2020) and IOCO Group as VMware Specialist (2020-2023), before becoming Senior Cloud Architect at Datacentrix (2024-present). His path shows deep progression in enterprise virtualization: VMware vSphere/NSX design, disaster recovery via Site Recovery Manager and VCDA, and cyber-resilient data protection using Rubrik, spanning HPE, NetApp and Lenovo storage, SAN, and hybrid-cloud architecture

Gert's Rubrik experience started in 2022 with one of the first large implementation in South Africa at a financial institution, where he deployed Rubrik hardware, bootstrapped and performed the initial VMware integration. The effortless integration, operability and the ease of backups, restores and replication had Gert hooked from the start. Moving from CDM based management to RSC was a big win for him. SaaS operated environments instead of individual sites and having Enterprise license features like DSPM and Orchestrated Failover with testing, for a multi-tenant vCD environment, enabling RBAC, Orgs and Dedicated Tenants has no equal.
