What began as a teenage gaming hobby became the catalyst for Lee’s career, driving him to swap the controller for a keyboard and pursue programming right out of high school. Deciding to pivot to infrastructure, Lee started in desktop support and eventually transitioned into the Managed Service Provider (MSP) space. Over a 20-year career building cloud infrastructures and managing complex environments, he cycled through various backup vendors before finally settling on Rubrik seven years ago.
Having spent years managing traditional systems that often required significant engineering oversight to maintain, transitioning to Rubrik marked a pivotal shift in Lee’s operational workflow. Early interactions with the team highlighted a level of simplicity and speed that he hadn't experienced before, allowing him to move past the routine of constant maintenance tickets. For Lee, the shift from questioning whether backups would work to experiencing seamless upgrades and instant file search marked a phenomenal change in his daily operations.
Lee’s early experience in the Rubrik community is what anchored his engagement. From the outset, he had a direct line to the technical staff, where his shared ideas and feedback were heard and often returned with a prototype or refined UI based on his suggestions. Beyond that formative collaboration, he values the peer network he’s built, frequently connecting offline with fellow Titans, for strategic discussions about the future of the industry.
