About the team:

Our global accounting team is responsible for finalising financial statements of all subsidiaries in North America, EMEA, & APAC as per the required GAAP in the respective countries. They play a large part in ensuring compliance to related regulatory guidance, compliance to accounting policies and standards, practices, and principles. This team owns the process of accurate and timely closure of financial books of accounts, audit of financial statements, and auditing processes. They maintain and improve the overall control environment over reporting and handle the entire GL management, reviews, reconciliations, including controls/oversight. 

About the role:

This is an Associate Accountant role within our International Accounting organisation in Bangalore, India. This position will be part of our International Accounting & Reporting team, supporting the Rubrik subsidiary's local reporting. This position will require strong accounting skills, the ability to effectively partner with stakeholders (internal and external) and team members, execute and maintain accounting principles in line with the local accounting framework, regulations and company policies, and the ability to drive issues through to resolution and validation.

What you'll do:

  • Owns the end-to-end process of preparing and filing annual financial statements, ensuring full compliance with applicable accounting standards and the applicable corporate law.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain account reconciliations consistent with local GAAP and corporate accounting policies to ensure close timelines are met.
  • Prepare and maintain reports/schedules for management, and prepare schedules requested by internal and external auditors.
  • Leads and coordinates the annual statutory audit of the books of accounts, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit closure.
  • Apply judgment to ensure that the financial integrity of accounting entries, accruals, and account reconciliations are intact and address risks/issues
  • Ensure the reasonableness of all accounting principles and treatments adopted under the local reporting framework. Act as a key liaison for the statutory audit, providing timely information and explanations to fulfill auditor requests.
  • Research and document the company's position on technical accounting issues with the ability to effectively communicate and present to internal and external stakeholders
  • Laison and collaborate with internal teams, internal and external auditors, and consultants
  • Ensure compliance for Indian Direct, Indirect taxation and Company secretarial, liaison with the consultant to respond to the direct and Indirect tax notices on timely manner
  • Stay current on evolving Accounting Standards pronouncements
  • Filing any other statutory or local returns

Experience you’ll need:

  • Degree in Accountancy, with CA and 2-3 yrs of relevant working experience in accounting Indian entities, preferably MNC or auditing of Indian entities, preferably Big 4s.
  • Experience in prepaid, accruals, FA accounting, intercompany accounting, commission accounting, lease accounting, payroll accounting, reconciliation, fluxes and process documentations is expected.
  • In-depth understanding of I GAAP and Ind AS. Knowledge of IFRS is a plus
  • Analytical thinker who can identify and implement effective process improvements
  • Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system –preferably experience in NetSuite. 
  • Ability to analyse financial records and interpret in simple terms to other stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational and multitasking skills, strong written and oral communication skills

NONDISCLOSURE AGREEMENT

You will hold in confidence and will not possess or use (except as required to evaluate the proposed business relationship) or disclose any Confidential Information except information you can document which (i) is in the public domain through no fault of yours, (ii) was properly known to you, without restriction, prior to disclosure by Company or (iii) was properly disclosed to you by another person without restriction.   6. Disclaimer. Confidential Information is provided to you “as is” and the Company makes no warranties with respect to the Confidential Information or any materials provided by the Company.  In no event will the Company be liable for the accuracy or completeness of the Confidential Information.  You understand that nothing herein (i) requires the disclosure of any Confidential Information of the Company or (ii) requires the Company to proceed with any transaction or relationship.  You understand that this Agreement does not obligate the Company to disclose any information or negotiate or enter into any agreement or relationship.
  7. Miscellaneous.  The terms of this Agreement will remain in effect with respect to any particular Confidential Information until you can document that such Confidential Information falls into one of the exceptions stated in Section 2 above.  You acknowledge and agree that due to the unique nature of the Confidential Information, any breach of this Agreement would cause irreparable harm to Company for which damages are not an adequate remedy, and that Company shall therefore be entitled to equitable relief in addition to all other remedies available at law.  This Agreement is personal to you, nonassignable by you, governed by the internal laws of the State of California and may be modified or waived only in writing signed by both parties.  If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, such provision will be limited or deleted to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining terms remain in full force and effect.  The prevailing party in any dispute or legal action regarding the subject matter of this Agreement shall be entitled to recover attorneys’ fees and costs.
