About the Role:

Reporting to Rubrik’s Chief Product Officer, as Senior Director, Product Management, you will be a pivotal leader in shaping the future of Rubrik's Enterprise Data Protection (EDP) portfolio, globally driving both strategic it’s product vision and execution. EDP is Rubrik’s largest line of business which currently brings in more than 50% of our revenue. In addition, you will act as the Site Leader for the Product Management team in Bangalore, offering the unique opportunity to build and mentor a product team in India that drives new innovation across the entire product portfolio of Rubrik from data protection to security to AI.

You will have significant autonomy to define and drive the EDP strategy, directly impacting global growth and market share in a highly competitive and rapidly evolving industry that sits at the intersection of data, security, and AI. Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Vision & Strategy : Define and execute the product strategy for the Enterprise Data Protection portfolio, globally owning and driving its direction and execution autonomously & collaboratively. 
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, inspire, and mentor a high-performing product team in Bangalore, fostering an inclusive culture, ensuring high engagement, raising the bar on hiring, and providing effective coaching and mentorship. Directly manage a global team of 11 PMs, including two directors, supporting the EDP portfolio. Dotted-line manage 15 additional PMs in Bangalore supporting every aspect of our portfolio. 
  • Market & Customer Insight: Drive product strategy and execution to accelerate market share growth from legacy backup players and innovate across database, VM, and unstructured data protection on-premises based on clear hypotheses, direct customer interactions, and market-driven analysis.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate deeply and align with product, engineering, sales, marketing, and other functional groups, managing expectations and priorities effectively within a fast-paced and competitive environment. Ensure that products in the portfolio maximize their commercial and business impact for Rubrik.
  • Innovation & Growth: Manage the business of EDP, monitoring and creating plans around all key business metrics from pipeline to ACV closed, to retention and engagement. Contribute to achieving Rubrik's long-term vision, particularly in the hybrid cloud large enterprise market for data, security, and AI.
  • Site Leadership: Partner directly with Rubrik’s India MD to provide strong leadership on the ground in Bangalore, building a deep culture of cohesion and east-west collaboration across multiple product lines within the India PM team and continuing to attract and retain top-tier PM talent.

 What we are looking for:

  • Exceptional People Leadership: Must be an exceptionally strong people leader, and deeply passionate about creating inclusive and high-performing team cultures, with demonstrated success in coaching and mentoring senior product leaders. Experience managing teams of 10+ Product Managers and first line managers.
  • Product Strategy & Execution: Capable of both rolling up sleeves for deep product execution and articulating a broad 10,000-foot vision for the product area. Proven ability to define and drive product strategy for externally monetizable products,ideally for Global enterprise B2B Products. 
  • Strong Communication & Collaboration: Deeply collaborative with strong communication skills, able to align and manage expectations across product, engineering, sales, marketing, and other functional groups.
  • High Standards for Product Managers: Possesses a very high bar for expectations from product managers and a commitment to raising the bar on hiring.
  • Business Acumen: Experience managing the business of a product area, monitoring key metrics (pipeline, ACV, retention, engagement) and creating plans to drive growth.
  • Market Understanding: Ability to drive product strategy and execution to win market share from competitors and innovate based on clear hypotheses and market-driven analysis (specifically in data protection across database, VM, and unstructured data on-premises).
  • Previous Experience in Silicon Valley (Highly Preferred): Understands the Silicon Valley ethos of enterprise B2B product management. Proven success building businesses to hundreds of millions in scale.

  2. Obligations. You will hold in confidence and will not possess or use (except as required to evaluate the proposed business relationship) or disclose any Confidential Information except information you can document which (i) is in the public domain through no fault of yours, (ii) was properly known to you, without restriction, prior to disclosure by Company or (iii) was properly disclosed to you by another person without restriction.   6. Disclaimer. Confidential Information is provided to you “as is” and the Company makes no warranties with respect to the Confidential Information or any materials provided by the Company.  In no event will the Company be liable for the accuracy or completeness of the Confidential Information.  You understand that nothing herein (i) requires the disclosure of any Confidential Information of the Company or (ii) requires the Company to proceed with any transaction or relationship.  You understand that this Agreement does not obligate the Company to disclose any information or negotiate or enter into any agreement or relationship.
  7. Miscellaneous.  The terms of this Agreement will remain in effect with respect to any particular Confidential Information until you can document that such Confidential Information falls into one of the exceptions stated in Section 2 above.  You acknowledge and agree that due to the unique nature of the Confidential Information, any breach of this Agreement would cause irreparable harm to Company for which damages are not an adequate remedy, and that Company shall therefore be entitled to equitable relief in addition to all other remedies available at law.  This Agreement is personal to you, nonassignable by you, governed by the internal laws of the State of California and may be modified or waived only in writing signed by both parties.  If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, such provision will be limited or deleted to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining terms remain in full force and effect.  The prevailing party in any dispute or legal action regarding the subject matter of this Agreement shall be entitled to recover attorneys’ fees and costs.
