Survey respondents reported that they have seen a considerable increase in the volume and severity of ransomware attacks in the last 24 months, with this year set to top any year prior.

The sentiment from the vast majority of organisations surveyed (88%) is that they would not consider paying ransomware attackers, when confronted with an attack in reality, the results were very different however - of those who had fallen victim to a ransomware attack, almost one in three (29%) of local organisations had paid off the attackers to regain access to their data.
