Haritha Elango joined Rubrik over two and a half years ago as part of the Galactus team. At the time, Galactus was a small team and Haritha was excited about the opportunities joining a small team could offer. The Galactus team is responsible for Cloud Native Protection in Rubrik Security Cloud covering VM, PaaS and object storage for all clouds. We have over 750+ customers for CNP worldwide with more getting added each day with the accelerated growth of data on the cloud.
Why did you join Rubrik?
Rubrik has a reputation for having the best people in the industry, and I was eager to work alongside such skilled professionals. Also, I had an offer to join the Galactus team, which was a small and growing team at the time. I was excited about the growth and learning opportunities that a small team could offer me, and knew that I would be able to make meaningful contributions. The last few years have certainly backed up my original expectations with the enormous learning I’ve had in building systems at scale and delivering critical projects!
Rubrik is on a mission to secure the world’s data. How does our mission inspire the work you do?
At Rubrik, it's clear to see how my work is tied to the overall mission of the company. For example, in alignment with the data security initiative of the company, in the last few years, I've worked on building the immutable backups solution for cloud-native workloads and delivering the security operators for cloud-native data. Knowing that the work I do contributes to the overall goal of securing the world's data inspires me to do my best work every day.
Another aspect of Rubrik's mission that inspires me is seeing how well customers receive our product and rely on it for their critical security needs. It's inspiring to see how much trust our customers place in our product and how it plays a critical role in their data security strategy. This motivates me to work even harder to ensure that our product continues to meet and exceed their expectations.
What excites you most about the future of Rubrik?
Rubrik’s ambitious goal to become the leader in the data security space. The startling increase in reports of attacks on data by malicious actors across a wide range of industries like healthcare, government, financial services, education and legal industries showcase the importance of our day-to-day work.
How does our overall company growth provide you with career opportunities or experiences? What excites you about your career potential at Rubrik?
Over the past 2.5 years at Rubrik, I've grown from working individually on a task to delivering multi-month projects. My team’s growth has provided me with opportunities to take on more significant responsibilities and work on complex projects that have helped me develop my skills and advance my career. I'm excited to see what more I can achieve here at Rubrik.
