Rubrik is honored to have received two Best of VMworld 2017 U.S. awards: the Gold Award for Data Protection and Best of Show.
The Best of VMworld 2017 U.S. Awards recognize the most innovative new products in the server virtualization, cloud, and end-user computing markets. A panel of industry experts evaluated 90 nominated products on display at VMworld 2017 U.S. and named winners in seven categories.
Judges named Rubrik The Best of Show winner, which “represents the best of the best” and was chosen among the winners of the previous categories.
Rubrik Alta took Gold in the Data Protection category. This award recognizes software products or cloud services — such as disaster recovery as a service — that are designed to backup, restore, replicate data, and/or achieve fault tolerance in a virtual server or cloud infrastructure.
Judges commented that Alta is “the perfect complement to hyper-converged infrastructure.”
Rubrik Alta, our ninth and most significant product release, provides instant application availability anytime, anywhere regardless of the underlying infrastructure. Alta delivers an ecosystem-agnostic platform that supports key modern operating environments in the enterprise, including: VMware, Hyper-V, AHV; physical environments such as Linux and Windows; and AWS, Azure and private clouds. The release also introduced Live Mount for SQL. For application mobility or disaster recovery, Alta offers CloudOn instantiation across data centers and clouds.
With Rubrik, enterprises can recover applications in minutes vs. hours to days and achieve 30-50% hard savings over legacy data protection products. Management complexity is also abstracted by Rubrik’s consumer-grade user experience. Customers typically spend 2-3 minutes for daily management vs. 5-6 hours a day spent with legacy solutions and typically achieve a 70%+ reduction in their data center footprint.
This award rounds-out an exciting month. After only three and a half years in business, we were named a Visionary in the Gartner 2017 Magic Quadrant for Data Center Backup & Recovery Solutions and reached a $150M annualized run rate. We achieved Advanced Partner Status with AWS. And today, we announced NBA MVP Kevin Durant has joined the Rubrik team as an investor and board advisor.
