About the team and role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic and visionary Enterprise Architect to join our Rubrik IT Enterprise Architecture team, focusing on the intersection of our IT Enterprise Applications, Integrations, Automations, Data, Cloud, AI, and Security with our robust Information Security policies and the Risk control frameworks. This role is critical for aligning our IT technical vision and strategy with our business goals and corporate objectives ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient platforms for our internal IT teams and Business Operations teams. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in enterprise architecture, integration patterns, full-stack engineering solutions, Cloud, DevOps, and cybersecurity principles. Your role will bridge the gap between business objectives and technical execution, ensuring that all architectural decisions align with our Business operations strategies and guiding principles.

What you'll do:

Strategy and Roadmap

  • Business-IT Alignment: Translate the overall business strategy (goals, objectives, and priorities) into a coherent, executable IT strategy and architecture vision.
  • Architectural Vision: Define and maintain the Target State Architecture (Future State) for the entire enterprise, encompassing Business, Data, Application, and Technology domains.
  • Roadmapping: Develop and govern the multi-year Architectural Roadmap that guides the transition from the current-state architecture (Baseline) to the target state, prioritizing initiatives to maximize business value.
  • Technology Evaluation: Conduct horizon scanning and evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., AI, Cloud services, new security platforms) to determine their potential impact and strategic fit for the business.

Governance and Standards

  • Architectural Governance: Establish, enforce, and maintain Architectural Principles, Decision Trees, Standards, and Enterprise Patterns across the organization to ensure consistency, quality, and interoperability.
  • Review and Assurance: Lead the Architecture Review Council (ARC) process to review and approve all major IT projects, tools and solutions, ensuring compliance with defined standards and the overall enterprise vision by meeting periodically with the identified federated domain and solution architects and/or business process owners or architects
  • Risk and Compliance: Ensure all architectural designs inherently comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2, SOX, FedRAMP, and industry-specific standards) and address technical risks like security vulnerabilities and scalability limitations by partnering with InfoSec, Internal Audit, Legal and Privacy teams

Design and Guidance

  • Blueprint Creation: Create, document, and maintain essential architectural artifacts and models (e.g., using frameworks like TOGAF or Archimate) to provide a holistic view of the enterprise.
  • Complexity Reduction: Identify and drive initiatives to rationalize the existing application portfolio, reduce technical debt, and simplify the overall IT landscape to improve agility and reduce costs.
  • Cross-Domain Leadership: Provide technical and strategic direction to solution architects, domain architects (Applications, Integrations, Automations, Cloud, AI, Data, Security, Infrastructure), and delivery teams on complex, cross-functional programs.

Stakeholder Management and Communication

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with senior leaders, and ITLT (IT Leadership Team) members, and business Ops leaders to articulate the value of architecture and align technology investment decisions with organizational priorities.
  • Communication: Clearly articulate and present complex technical concepts, trade-offs, and architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and coach other federated architects and technical staff on best practices, strategic thinking, and the application of architectural standards.

Experience You’ll Need:

  • Experience: 15+ years in Information Technology, with at least 5 years in an Enterprise Architect or equivalent senior architectural role.
  • Domain Expertise: Proven experience in designing and implementing architectures for B2B platforms, including APIs, integration patterns (e.g., EDI, message queuing, event-driven), Experienced in providing solution architecture to the GTM, G&A Finance, Legal, Customer Support business functions
  • Cybersecurity Acumen: Deep understanding of core cybersecurity domains (e.g., threat modeling, network security, application security, cloud security, and data encryption).
  • Technical Skills: Expertise with Integrations, Automations, GenAI, Cloud Native Architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, Event Driven Architectures, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), APIs, and DevOps/CI/CD pipelines.
  • Frameworks: Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or the Zachman Framework.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Certified Cloud Architect (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional), or Open Group Certified Architect (TOGAF).

NONDISCLOSURE AGREEMENT

In consideration of any disclosure of certain nonpublic or confidential information, you hereby enter into this Nondisclosure Agreement (the “Agreement”) and agree as follows:

  1. Confidential Information. In connection with a potential business relationship or other business purposes, Rubrik, Inc. (the “Company”) has granted you (the individual or entity named below) access, or may grant you access, to business, technical or other nonpublic information, materials and/or ideas (“Confidential Information,” which term shall include, without limitation, anything you learn or discover as a result of exposure to or analysis of any Confidential Information).
  2. Obligations. You will hold in confidence and will not possess or use (except as required to evaluate the proposed business relationship) or disclose any Confidential Information except information you can document which (i) is in the public domain through no fault of yours, (ii) was properly known to you, without restriction, prior to disclosure by Company or (iii) was properly disclosed to you by another person without restriction. You will not reverse engineer or attempt to derive the composition or underlying information, structure or ideas of any Confidential Information.  You will not export, re-export, resell, ship or divert or cause to be exported, re-exported, resold, shipped or diverted, directly or indirectly, any Confidential Information or product thereof.  You will promptly notify Company of any unauthorized release, disclosure or use of Confidential   You will strictly abide by any and all instructions and restrictions provided by Company from time to time with respect to Confidential Information or Company systems. You will ensure the security of any facilities, machines, accounts, passwords and methods you use to store any Confidential Information or to access Company systems and ensure that no other person has or obtains access thereto.

  4. No License.  This Agreement does not grant a license to you in or to any of the Confidential Information.
  5. Feedback.  You may, at your option and in your sole discretion, provide suggestions or feedback related to the Company’s products or services.  In no event will such suggestions or feedback be considered confidential or proprietary to you.  The Company will be free to use such suggestions as it chooses, without compensation to you.
  6. Disclaimer. Confidential Information is provided to you “as is” and the Company makes no warranties with respect to the Confidential Information or any materials provided by the Company.  In no event will the Company be liable for the accuracy or completeness of the Confidential Information.  You understand that nothing herein (i) requires the disclosure of any Confidential Information of the Company or (ii) requires the Company to proceed with any transaction or relationship.  You understand that this Agreement does not obligate the Company to disclose any information or negotiate or enter into any agreement or relationship.
  7. Miscellaneous.  The terms of this Agreement will remain in effect with respect to any particular Confidential Information until you can document that such Confidential Information falls into one of the exceptions stated in Section 2 above.  You acknowledge and agree that due to the unique nature of the Confidential Information, any breach of this Agreement would cause irreparable harm to Company for which damages are not an adequate remedy, and that Company shall therefore be entitled to equitable relief in addition to all other remedies available at law.  This Agreement is personal to you, nonassignable by you, governed by the internal laws of the State of California and may be modified or waived only in writing signed by both parties.  If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, such provision will be limited or deleted to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining terms remain in full force and effect.  The prevailing party in any dispute or legal action regarding the subject matter of this Agreement shall be entitled to recover attorneys’ fees and costs.
