Rubrik Announces Support for New Amazon S3 Intelligent-Tiering Storage Class
Rubrik’s industry-leading Cloud Data Management solution enables enterprises to quickly and seamlessly capture the flexibility and cost savings of Amazon’s new S3 Intelligent-Tiering storage class
PALO ALTO, Calif., November 28, 2018 — Rubrik, the Cloud Data Management Company, today announced support for the new Amazon S3 Intelligent-Tiering storage class. This enables Rubrik customers to reduce the storage costs of archived data that is accessed infrequently. Rubrik’s offering provides enterprise customers with a single solution to protect and manage their data from on-premises to the cloud. The new integration provides customers with an additional option to further optimize their cloud archive storage costs.
“Many Rubrik customers leverage S3 to support their data archiving and disaster recovery needs,” said Arvind Nithrakashyap, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Rubrik. “However, mapping application data to and managing it across cloud storage tiers is challenging. Rubrik’s integration with the new S3 Intelligent-Tiering storage class is a big step forward in empowering companies to leverage the right class of storage by usage and by economics, while managing and accessing it seamlessly via Rubrik’s data control plane.”
Rubrik’s support for S3 Intelligent-Tiering adds to the Company’s already broad portfolio of integrated solutions on AWS including:
- CloudOut for Archival to AWS storage classes, including S3 Standard, S3 Standard-Infrequent Access (S3 Standard-IA), S3 One Zone-Infrequent Access (S3 One Zone-IA), S3 Reduced Redundancy Storage (RRS) and Amazon Glacier;
- CloudOn to instantiate applications and databases in AWS for Disaster Recovery, Application Migration, and Test/Dev;
- Native backup and data management of EC2 instances;
- Cloud Cluster for backing up EC2 instances running applications with unique data management needs (e.g. instances running SAP HANA); and
- Rubrik Datos IO for cloud backup and recovery of modern non-relational NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DataStax, Apache Cassandra) deployed natively on AWS.
