Today at Virtualization Field Day 5 (#VFD5) we were thrilled to welcome the newest member of the Rubrik family, Chris Wahl. Chris is a respected voice in next-generation data center technologies and has earned his reputation in the community over the past decade with hands-on experience with enterprise infrastructure design, service orchestration, and data center automation.

However, many of us know Chris through his blog, Wahl Network, which ranks in the Top 10 Virtualization Blogs and has earned the favorite independent blogger designation for three years running. He’s also led and presented at VMware User Groups (VMUGs) across the globe, co-authored Networking for VMware Administrators, and holds two VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) certifications.

The Opportunity Ahead

So, why did Rubrik and Chris join forces? “For far too long, backup and recovery has been a neglected corner of the data center,” Wahl says. “Recent technology breakthroughs have opened the door for Rubrik to create a simple solution that abstracts away the vast majority of data protection road blocks. It’s an extremely exciting time to be working in this space.” We couldn’t agree more.

Getting the Word Out on Rubrik

There’s no excuse for complex, brittle architectures, frustrating user experiences and worst of all – slow recovery times. The swell of enthusiasm around Rubrik’s launch of the world’s first Converged Data Management platform, confirmed that our opportunity is real. As agents of change, we’re excited to work with like-minded folks like Chris who can amplify our message, and can get the word out – in conferences, tech community events, user groups, meetups, and blogs. For more on Chris’ take on Rubrik and Converged Data Management, check out his blog post.
