That’s why I’m thrilled to announce the hire of John Murphy as Rubrik’s Global Field Chief Security Officer. John joins us from BNY Mellon where he was the Global Head of Cybersecurity Strategy and Architecture for the bank’s Cybersecurity Program. John is a proven leader with more than 20 years of experience, and deep knowledge in the financial services industry.
John’s extensive cybersecurity background, ability to improve security across enterprise functions, and foresight into the ever-evolving data security landscape will be a tremendous asset as we continue to bring Rubrik’s Zero Trust Data Security approach to even more businesses, and help secure them against ever increasing cyber threats.
Data is the currency of everything we do. It’s a tremendous asset, but it can also be a risk. To ensure data is truly secure, you must first identify any vulnerabilities and figure out how to fix them. In this new role, I’m excited to help enterprises around the world understand the full capabilities of Rubrik, and everything it can do to help protect them and fill those gaps.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon, John was responsible for Cybersecurity Engineering at Deutsche Bank where he focused on delivering commercial and custom cybersecurity solutions. In addition to his industry experience, John holds a Ph.D. in Technology Management from Stevens Institute of Technology and has authored articles on technology investment, technology decision making frameworks, and the core need to increase IT credibility through value-driven delivery that supports business innovation and time to market.
