Is your organization cyber resilient? Is your data secure? How will your brand be impacted if your corporate or client data is unavailable for seconds, hours, or days? With the explosion of ransomware attacks, fueled by an ever-increasing attack surface area and legacy systems exposing your data to more risk, confidently answering these questions is more business-critical than ever.
Rubrik was built with security at the core from day one, and we’re continuously exploring new ways to expand our capabilities and leverage our investments to improve our customers’ data security posture.
That’s why I’m thrilled to announce the hire of John Murphy as Rubrik’s Global Field Chief Security Officer. John joins us from BNY Mellon where he was the Global Head of Cybersecurity Strategy and Architecture for the bank’s Cybersecurity Program. John is a proven leader with more than 20 years of experience, and deep knowledge in the financial services industry.
John’s extensive cybersecurity background, ability to improve security across enterprise functions, and foresight into the ever-evolving data security landscape will be a tremendous asset as we continue to bring Rubrik’s Zero Trust Data Security approach to even more businesses, and help secure them against ever increasing cyber threats.
Data is the currency of everything we do. It’s a tremendous asset, but it can also be a risk. To ensure data is truly secure, you must first identify any vulnerabilities and figure out how to fix them. In this new role, I’m excited to help enterprises around the world understand the full capabilities of Rubrik, and everything it can do to help protect them and fill those gaps.
If your answers to the questions above aren’t a resounding “yes!” it’s definitely time to take a hard look at your data lifecycle to identify and address possible gaps. Securing your business data has only increased in importance in recent years and being able to continuously verify and attest to the recoverability of your data using the foundation of immutability and least-privilege-access is exactly what Rubrik is built for. You can’t afford any uncertainty in your answer.
I’m always looking for a bigger problem to solve, and Rubrik’s tackling the biggest data challenges business are facing today, including empowering businesses to plan for and defend against ransomware.
Prior to joining BNY Mellon, John was responsible for Cybersecurity Engineering at Deutsche Bank where he focused on delivering commercial and custom cybersecurity solutions. In addition to his industry experience, John holds a Ph.D. in Technology Management from Stevens Institute of Technology and has authored articles on technology investment, technology decision making frameworks, and the core need to increase IT credibility through value-driven delivery that supports business innovation and time to market.
Welcome John, and I look forward to seeing your impact on our team and our more than 3,300 global customers!
