Healthcare systems run their most critical patient data on high-performance flash storage. Financial services firms run trading and settlement platforms that can't tolerate a millisecond of unplanned latency. Manufacturing operations run process control systems where downtime means halted production lines.
These workloads live on arrays like Everpure FlashArray because nothing can match the performance of this architecture. For years, protecting Everpure FlashArrays has meant managing two distinct layers separately: Everpure SafeMode snapshots on one side, Rubrik backups on the other.
Both technologies are essential, but neither are connected in a single workflow. The existing path forces customers to choose: take VMware-mediated snapshots that can stun production workloads, or run full reads every backup cycle that grows with dataset size, not change rate.
Rubrik for Volumes changes that.
Everpure FlashArray block volumes are now first-class citizens in Rubrik Security Cloud: the same native protection Rubrik delivers for databases, hypervisors, and cloud workloads is now extended to block storage. For the first time, your most performance-critical workloads live inside the same 3-2-1-1-0 architecture as the rest of your environment. Beta is open today.
The Best of Both. Together.
Together, Everpure FlashArray, Rubrik Secure Vault, and Everpure FlashBlade deliver the complete 3-2-1-1-0 architecture: three copies, two different media types, one off-array copy, one immutable copy, zero errors in backup data. That architecture has been delivering cyber resilience for VMs and unstructured data through the Rubrik + Everpure Cyber Resilience Stack since 2024. Rubrik for Volumes extends it to block storage. Here’s how.
Everpure FlashArray is already a strong first line of defense. SafeMode snapshots are natively immutable and indelible, created automatically by Auto-on SafeMode, and protected against tampering even if administrator credentials are compromised. That baseline matters. It means every recovery point on the array is indelible from the moment it's created.
Rubrik extends that foundation. Rubrik Secure Vault creates an immutable second copy on separate media, built on a proprietary append-only file system that prevents any changes from the moment data is backed up. Air-gapped by design, it doesn't rely on NFS or SMB protocols, the common attack vectors that ransomware exploits to reach backup data.
With Rubrik Secure Vault as your primary off-array copy (not a secondary fallback) the air gap is built in from day one. With Rubrik SLA automation governing both layers, archival to Everpure FlashBlade provides the third copy for long-term retention.
What "First-Class" Actually Means
Rubrik native data protection follows a consistent model:
Rubrik for Databases covers Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA, and more.
Rubrik for Hypervisors covers VMware, Nutanix AHV, and others.
Rubrik for Cloud covers AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Rubrik for Volumes extends that same model to Everpure FlashArray block storage.
First-class means Everpure FlashArray Protection Groups and Volumes show up in Rubrik Security Cloud as fully managed objects, just like your VMs and databases. You define an SLA policy. Rubrik orchestrates the snapshot lifecycle: create, retain, and archive. Recovery initiates from the same Rubrik Security Cloud interface you use for everything else in your protection stack. Restore operations are export-based: Rubrik exports a clean volume to your target FlashArray, giving your team a verified starting point. Full orchestrated recovery is on the roadmap.
You don’t need a new tool to get this peace of mind. You don’t need to create a parallel workflow or a second dashboard for your storage team to manage. You just need Rubrik Security Cloud.
"Rubrik for Volumes brings block storage into the same family as Rubrik for Databases and Rubrik for Hypervisors," says Gerry Fierling, Head of Global Partnerships, Rubrik. "For the first time, organizations running their most performance-sensitive workloads on Everpure FlashArray can manage protection, governance, and recovery from the same platform they use for everything else."
Built for Your Most Demanding Workloads
Rubrik for Volumes was built for a specific customer: organizations running large, monolithic databases on Everpure FlashArray where performance is non-negotiable and dataset size makes traditional approaches painful. This includes:
Healthcare organizations protecting multi-terabyte EHR environments
Financial services firms whose core databases can't afford backup windows that grow with the dataset
Manufacturing operations where any performance impact during protection jobs creates downstream problems
For these workloads, Rubrik for Volumes uses Everpure's native Changed Block Tracking to capture only what's changed since the last snapshot. For a workload with a 10% daily change rate, a 60TB environment sends 6TB per cycle instead of 60TB. That relationship holds as you scale. The backup window tracks your change rate, not your total footprint.
The result is better RPO for your most demanding workloads, without impacting production performance. Rubrik for Volumes is engineered to complete 250TB of protection inside a 24-hour window, with no hypervisor in the data path. Direct array integration means protection jobs don't touch the production stack. Everpure FlashArray delivers sub-millisecond latency because it doesn't get in its own way. Rubrik for Volumes upholds that standard throughout every protection cycle.
Three Layers. One Policy. No Gaps.
The Rubrik and Everpure Cyber Resilience Stack was built on the principle that layered protection, each layering complementing the others, delivers better outcomes than any single approach alone. Rubrik for Volumes applies that same architecture to block storage.
Everpure FlashArray provides the performance and security layer: natively immutable SafeMode snapshots created as frequently as every five minutes, with SafeMode governance ensuring bad actors cannot modify, encrypt, or delete them.
Rubrik Secure Vault provides added security layers: a zero-trust immutable backup copy on separate media, air-gapped, with retention locks that persist even under credential compromise.
Everpure FlashBlade provides the retention layer: cost-effective, immutable archive storage for long-term compliance and recovery.
Rubrik SLA automation governs all three. Unlike approaches that route through the hypervisor or require a secondary backup copy to achieve air-gap immutability, Rubrik for Volumes is built around direct array integration and a primary copy that is itself air-gapped. One policy sets frequency, retention and archival across the entire stack. Your storage admin works in the Everpure interface. Your backup admin works in Rubrik Security Cloud. Both teams enforce the same protection standard.
"Everpure FlashArray runs the workloads our customers' businesses depend on: production databases, ERPs, transactional applications," says Mark Bridges, Head of Global Strategic Alliances, Everpure. "SafeMode makes every snapshot immutable and indelible the moment it hits the array, so no compromised credential can erase the recovery point. Rubrik for Volumes brings the policy, recovery, and retention discipline customers already trust across the rest of their estate to the block layer, managed from a single console."
One Platform to Rule Them All
With Rubrik for Volumes, your storage admin continues managing Everpure from the Everpure interface. Your backup admin manages protection from Rubrik Security Cloud. Both teams work from the same SLA policies, compliance view, and recovery workflow.
Everpure volumes join your VMs, databases, cloud workloads, and Microsoft 365 in a single protection dashboard. One place to verify coverage, answer the audit question, and kick off recovery.
Your coverage reports no longer have blind spots. Your audits get clean answers. And the conversation about why part of your infrastructure runs under different rules than everything else goes away.
Every Snapshot, Known Clean Before You Need It
The Rubrik + Everpure Cyber Resilience Stack already delivers cyber recovery for VMware workloads running on Everpure FlashArray. Today, the Cyber Resilience Visibility integration combines Rubrik's threat analytics with Everpure storage intelligence. When Rubrik identifies a threat in a VM backup, it automatically maps that finding to the affected volumes and snapshots on the array, so your security team knows what's compromised and what's clean before recovery begins.
Block volume snapshots have historically sat outside that threat intelligence loop. You could protect them. You could recover from them. But knowing which snapshots were clean before you needed them wasn't something you could determine at protection time.
Future releases of Rubrik for Volumes will close that gap. Threat scanning and cyber recovery capabilities will extend natively to Everpure FlashArray block volume snapshots themselves, so every protection cycle produces a snapshot with a known security status and recovery becomes a decision, not a scramble.
Today: cyber resilience for your VM workloads on Everpure FlashArray.
Coming next: the same intelligence applied directly to block volumes.
