Rubrik is honored to have Radar, its newest Rubrik Polaris application, receive two Best of VMworld 2018 U.S. awards: the Gold Award for Security and Best of Show. This marks the second year in a row that we’ve been named Best of Show, and the third year we’ve won a Gold at a VMworld conference.
These awards recognize the most innovative new products in the server virtualization, cloud, and end-user computing markets. This year, a panel of industry experts evaluated 75 products in areas such as innovation, performance, ease of use and manageability, and ability to fill a market gap.
Each year, the judges select one product as Best of Show, which “represents the best of the best” among the winners in previous categories. We’re humbled to be considered alongside many innovative companies and view this achievement as a testament to our leadership in the data management and security spaces.
To win the Gold Award for security, Radar was weighed against many disruptive products that “monitor and protect hypervisors, cloud workloads, guest OSes and virtual networks and enforce security best practices.” The judges commented that Radar showed we “gave serious thought to security and ransomware monitoring in the data protection space.” This assessment reinforces that Radar helps enterprises develop a multi-leveled security strategy that stretches from monitoring and detection to quick recovery.
Built on the Rubrik Polaris SaaS platform, Radar empowers enterprises to respond faster to security attacks by delivering deep intelligence on how an attack impacted their business-critical application data. Radar leverages machine learning to understand how users behave and data evolves to stay ahead of new threats. In the event of an attack, enterprises can recover to their most recent clean state in just a few clicks–minimizing business disruption and data loss.
Winning these awards wraps up an exciting and unforgettable week. John Chambers, Chairman Emeritus of Cisco, joined us as a Board Advisor and personal investor. We also launched Rubrik Beyond Work, our corporate responsibility program, which empowers employees to devote 1% of their time annually to giving back. We kicked off this program with a free-throw fundraiser at VMworld, where we raised over $30,000 for the Thompson Family Foundation. Thank you to everyone who participated in this fundraiser–we more than doubled last year’s $15,000 contribution to the Kevin Durant Charity Foundation.
And, of course, we want to extend a big “thank you” to TechTarget and the entire VMware community. We’re honored by this recognition and look forward to VMworld Europe in November!
